Preparations should be made before hot-dip galvanizing: before the composite steel grating enters the hot-dip galvanizing pool, the surface of the base metal should be kept clean and free of dirt, but excessive pickling should be avoided. Dirt on the surface that cannot be removed by pickling, such as oil, paint, welding slag, etc., should be removed before pickling. If it is not removed directly, it will directly affect the appearance of the product, and the subsequent processes are meaningless.

The surface roughness of the composite steel grating will also affect the thickness of the zinc layer and the structure of the zinc layer, because the unevenness of the surface will generally remain after hot-dip galvanizing, and its structure will still exist after hot-dip galvanizing. A rough surface can be obtained by sandblasting and rough grinding before pickling. The thickness of the zinc layer after hot-dip galvanizing is thicker than that after simple pickling.
